Breaking News: Endota Spas Coming to Perth in 2011!

♥ ♥ ♥

Woah woah woah! I literally just let out a “YES!” and clapped my hands with glee! You see, I’ve heard so much about these little pockets of bliss that are available to my Sydney, Melbourne & even Adelaide mates…tiny spa wonderlands where divine organic ingredients envelop you and you leave a changed person.

Okay okay, I haven’t tried it myself but this is what I’ve heard through my extensive reading of spa & beauty blogs from other states!

SO, the biggg news is (as I’m sure you can guess from the title) is that these bliss havens called Endota Spa’s will FINALLY be making their way to our West coast home!

David Jones city store will be the location of the first spa… and there will be more to come, they are currently offering franchising opportunities in these areas:

Territories available in greater Perth:

– Cannington
– Cottesloe
– Daglish
– Fremantle
– Innaloo
– Joondalup
– Mt Hawthorn
– Mt Lawley
– North Perth
– Perth CBD
– Scarborough
– Subiaco
– Warwick

territories available in regional WA:

I’ve also had the privilege of using the Endota Organic Rose Hip Oil and Honey & Rosehip mask of late and by golly, my skin is glowing! It’s like it just eats it up! There will be a proper review later, but I just wanted to give a bit of an idea as to why I’m excitedly raving like a lunatic.

So, to recap.

Endota Spas. Perth. 2011. Organic / Natural. Completely amazing. I will be first in line!

Be well,

Annette

Product Review: Wotnot Naturally Nurturing Facial Wipes.

Wotnot Facial Wipes

If you’re anything like me and are in a constant mini-war with your face, fighting dry, sensitive spots one day and little breakouts the next, you’ll know how difficult it is to find a face wipe that settles down the battle zones.

Not to mention the difficultly in finding one that quickly removes your makeup before you fall into bed after a big night.

So the recipe for my dream facial wipe would go something like this…

♥ Doesn’t sting sensitive bits or aggravate breakouts.
♥ Doesn’t dry out and tighten the skin.
♥ Nourishing and calming.
♥ Takes off makeup in a flash.
++ Bonus points: Improves skin condition.

Almost impossible?

Enter our star and my new fav. product, Wotnot Facial Wipes!

This baby is a winner in my eyes because it does all of the above, contains heaps of organic goodies AND is environmentally friendly as it’s 100% biodegradable / compostable!

Why didn’t someone think of this before?!

So down to the nitty gritty…

Contains: soothing organic aloe vera, organic sweet almond oil, organic rosehip oil, organic jojoba oil.

If you guys didn’t already know, those three oils are the who’s who of the “oils that are good for making your face healthy & pretty” scene. So get to know ’em!

Does not contain: alcohol, chlorine, sulphates, petrochemicals, parabens, artificial fragrances, artificial preservatives, animal extracts and they are of course against animal testing. PHEW.

This guy wasn’t harmed during the making of these wipes! YAY!

This is all well and good, however we need performance as well as enviro-responsibility, and Wotnot wipes deliver on that front too.

It takes off my makeup in a flash and feels GREAT afterwards!

I love this product and won’t be giving it up anytime soon, it’s replaced my stinging wipes and now takes pride of place in my messy bathroom.

Wotnot Naturally Nurturing Facial Wipes are $11.95 for a pack of 25 wipes and available to buy online (with free shipping) at http://www.wotnot.com.au.

Be well,

Annette

Beauty & Wellbeing Routine: Stuart Watkins, Holistic Fitness and Lifestyle Coach.

First up, briefly tell us a little bit about yourself!

I absolutely love what I get to do each day. Helping people live to their fullest potential is something that brings me so much joy. As well as my line of work I love surfing, the outdoors, travel, photography and live music.

Over the summer I am teaching Akhanda Yoga at various outdoor locations. They are donation based classes so you can pay as little or as much as you like per class. It’s all about getting back to nature and letting your true nature shine.

Tell us about your daily beauty routine.

Hmmm, very simple routine. Beauty starts from the inside so I just make sure I’m eating a nice natural, organic diet. Lots of greens, lots of omega oils and plenty of variety in the diet. As well as that I make sure I’m hydrated, more so for my energy, but it helps to keep the skin stay healthy too. When the inner body is in harmony and the mind is relaxed our natural beauty shines.

What’s the one beauty treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?
I don’t really get beauty treatments done, but I do get regular ayurvedic massages at K.A.L.M Wellness Centre with Kate Morris.

Who do you trust with your hair in Perth, and why?

Angelina at Guy’s Grooming in the city. In the past, every time I’d get my hair cut it would take about a week or 2 for my hair to look ok. After Angelina cuts my hair I’m happy with it straight away. She gives an amazing head massage too.

Navratna Oil

Favourite budget / at home beauty treatment?

Pranayama or yogic breath work and meditation. Everyone after practicing breath work in yoga and meditation just glows incredibly. The eyes are clearer, the skin glows and this inner peace just shines from the person. Occasionally I’ll do a bit of a face and body scrub using ground up flaxseeds with a bit of water. After washing that off with cool water I massage Navratna Oil into any muscles that feel like they need some love.

Your three, absolutely cannot live without, favourite products?

I don’t really use any external products apart from what I just mentioned.

I always make sure I have CHYAWANPRASH at home. It’s an ancient Indian herbal tonic that’s loaded with vitamin C.

I always make sure I have Vitamin C food complex, B food complex, magnesium and Vitamin E from an amazing brand called New Chapter.

Young baby coconuts!

Do you have any secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?
Coconut water every day. Fresh from a young coconut. So healing, energising and hydrating.

What beauty treatment/ wellbeing activity would you love to try but haven’t yet? (Due to time, money, scared etc!)

Everything I have been curious about trying I’ve already tried. I’m willing to give anything a go, if it makes sense to me.

Describe a typical day of eating for you.

I eat lots of raw foods throughout the day. I have about 5-6 meals spread throughout the day. Lots of fruits, vegetables and nuts. Lunch is usually my biggest meal. Each day of eating varies depending on how much energy I’m using, so I just listen to my body and give it the natural fuel that it needs.

Describe your fitness routine.

I usually cycle to and from work and if I’m in different locations throughout the day I can end up cycling quite a bit. I love cycling around Perth! I practice yoga for an hour to an hour and half 6 days a week. I also do strength and conditioning twice a week as well as surfing whenever possible and catching up with friends to play different sports.

Do you take part in any alternative therapies or take supplements? If so, discuss.

Yes, I do regular chakra meditation, and get regular ayurvedic massages. I sometimes get reflexology and flower essence massages too. I take a quite a few supplements. Here they are; Yellow pea protein, cell food, the vitamins I listed above from New Chapter, Chywanprash, spirulina, maca, ashwaganda, triphala, Udo’s Oil and chia seed.

Summer Outdoor Yoga in Perth!

If the idea of doing yoga in a natural setting, be it in a park or by the ocean, takes you to your happy place then you’ll want to get involved with this.

Holistic personal trainer / nutritionist / meditation & yoga practitioner Stuart Watkins will be running classes in Kings Park, Cott and City Beach throughout the 2010-2011 Summer!

I’ve recently had a personal meditation / yoga sesh with Stuart (more on that to come later) and can vouch for his knowledge, calming voice & positive / healing vibes that seem to emanate from him in droves.

Make sure you get in touch with him by the listed methods to ensure a spot. The classes are by donation, so you pay what you feel, which is a really harmonious way of doing things.

Namaste!

Be well,

Annette

Pre-Christmas Wellness Links!

If you’re anything like my housemate and I, you’ve been singing ridiculous Christmas songs about sleighs, Winter wonderlands, hanging out by the fire & snowmen for days now.

Unfortunately this translates pretty terribly to our current climate (gonna be 34 today, sunny and humid) BLEH!

In light of that I’ve been busting out some Rolf Harris – Six White Boomers with equally alarming regularity.

“six white boomers
snow white boomers
racing santa claus through the blazing sun
six white boomers
snow white boomers
on his Australian run”

But I digress! Merry Christmas everyone, thank you for making this year absolutely amazing, we couldn’t have done it without you.

In 2011 we’re going to continue testing out exercise classes, day spas, beauty products, wellbeing tips, hairdressers and anything else you can think of that’s going to make you look and feel great in Perth.

As well as bringing a whole lot of new competitions and ways to get involved!

We hope you’ve enjoyed the journey, and would like to present to you the final Wellness Links of the year! x
