Beauty & Wellness Routine with Distance Running Olympian Eloise Wellings!

First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!

I am a two time Olympian. My sport is distance running- 5,000m and 10,000m on the track. I am Co-Founder of the Love Mercy Foundation which I started with fellow Olympic runner Julius Achon from Uganda. We seek to empower the poor in Northern Uganda through sustainable projects, allowing families and communities to create their own livelihood through farming, education and access to health care. I am a wife to Jonathan and a mum to 6 year old India with another baby on the way – due in November!

What time do you wake up most days and how many hours of sleep do you aim for?

When I’m in full training and racing mode, I wake up at around 6am and I aim for at least 8 hours sleep a night. I always try and have a nap between hard workouts when I’m training up to three times a day, I find just 20 mins of just putting my feet up even if I can’t sleep, helps a lot with energy levels for my evening training session. Now that I’m heavily pregnant and not training hard I’m still aiming for a similar amount of sleep but this can be tricky when it gets uncomfortable towards the end of pregnancy. To compensate for this, I try and not make my days so full so that if I don’t sleep much the night before, I can at least try and get some rest during the day.

Describe a typical day of eating for you.

♥ Breakfast – porridge with honey and a banana, or if I’m about to go for a run I have two boiled eggs on sourdough with a cup of tea

♥ Morning tea – a handful of raw almonds and another piece of fruit and a plain Greek yoghurt

♥ Lunch – A sandwich with chicken and salad or a salad with rice, chicken and veggies

♥ Afternoon tea – A piece of toast with peanut butter or avocado or another banana cut up and dipped in cashew nut butter

♥ Dinner – Lean meat (steak or fish) with veggies and rice or potatoes. Or lately in this last trimester I’ve really been craving pasta and my husband makes a really good pesto pappadelle!

♥ Dessert – if I can fit it in is another plain Greek yogurt or some dark chocolate with a peppermint tea.

Lately I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to go back to sleep unless I have something to eat (common in the third trimester of pregnancy) so I’ll have a banana which usually does the trick.

Do you take any supplements, vitamins or special wellness elixirs? If so, we’d love to know!

When I’m not pregnant and I’m in full training I will supplement my diet on a daily basis with energy booster Ubiquinol – it’s the active form of co-enzyme Q10, a powerful antioxidant, vital for healthy cells and responsible for the energy production of cells in our body. It helps my recovery and fights feelings of fatigue. Magnesium is also a great option for inflammation and achy muscles when you start getting back into exercise.

Another favourite supplement is Revvies energy strips for a fast, convenient and effective energy hit before hard workouts and races. Always trial new caffeine or nutritional products in training before using them in a race.

Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?

For relaxation at the end of the day my husband and I will binge on an easy watching Netflix series or read a good book. Right now on Netflix we’re watching The Letdown and Money Heist, and I’m reading ‘The Moment of Lift’ by Melinda Gates – an inspiring book about her journey of empowering women out of poverty in developing countries through her foundation.

What are your top 3 wellness non-negotiables

♥ Eat mostly unprocessed foods

♥ Supplement diet with things I know will help my energy levels – Ubiquinol and magnesium.

♥ Spend lots of time with people I love ?

Your absolute favourite healthy cafe in NSW is?

I love Buck Hamblin cafe in Thirroul, a coastal town about 30 mins drive from where I live. Bucks have the best coffee on the south coast of Sydney and the most amazing menu – my favourite in the winter is the porridge with poached fruit and cinnamon and then in the summer-time I love the poached chicken salad with nuts, greens and grains for a healthy lunch.

Best place to get a green juice or smoothie in your city?

So Fresh Cronulla make the best fresh juices in Sydney. They also do antioxidant shots with turmeric and ginger to help reduce inflammation in the body.

What’s your fitness routine & favourite way to get sweaty and where’s your go-to?

Obviously running! It’s so energising for me. I feel free when I run. I love running with a group of running mates and I love an occasional run on my own just to clear my head. The best thing I love about running is that you can run literally anywhere and it’s so time efficient for getting fit and feeling healthy in your body and your mind.

If you could only wear one brand of activewear for the rest of your life it would be…

Adidas is my go-to brand for active wear. I’ve worn a lot of different brands Over the last 20 years of my running career and Adidas’ quality is second to none. I still have my fave Adidas kits that I was wearing 10 years ago! I love the street wear vibes in their originals range too and for running and workout shoes the boost technology makes you feel like you are running on clouds!

What’s the one beauty or wellness treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?

I love a facial from my friends at our local skin care spa called Beauty and Balance in Cronulla. I feel like a new woman when I leave and my skin looks and feels super refreshed and revitalised.

What’s your dream wellness vacay?

I love Fiji for a revitalising holiday. There’s just something about the people, the culture and the slower pace of life that makes you feel immediately relaxed, even from the moment you land at the airport. No one ever seems hurried in Fiji and it’s so refreshing. We love to spend a week just in Denarau, I run on the golf course every morning and then come home for fresh coconuts and we’ll hit the pool or take a chartered boat out to cloudbreak where my husband likes to surf. Indi and I swim around jumping off the boat and have a picnic lunch whilst we watch ‘Daddy surf’. We’ll get back in time for a mid afternoon nap and then head to one of the amazing resort restaurants for dinner. There’s also the mud baths at the foot of one of the mountains that we like to frequent each time we go, you rub the volcanic mud all over your skin and then wash it off in the bath and it has an incredible cleansing affect, then you’ll be treated to a massage under the mango tree by the local massage therapists. Fiji is my all time most relaxing holiday!

Beauty & Wellness Routine with Maha Corbett, Co-Founder & Director of SWIISH!

First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!

I’m Maha Corbett and I am the Co-Founder and Director of SWIISH, the number one destination for women to supercharge both their wellness and style. On top of that, I am a published author, wellness coach and a huge supporter of several charities, in particular the Humpty Dumpty Foundation.

What time do you wake up most days and how many hours of sleep do you aim for?

I do my very best to go to bed at a reasonable hour and am usually up around 6.15am. I am a big believer in beauty sleep. Quality sleep is so critical for our ongoing health and general well-being. Our bodies need rest and repair so that we can function at our best, and obviously a good night’s sleep also makes us feel better. Deep down at a cellular level, sleeping helps regulate hormones and therefore ensures the body is functioning healthily. I aim for about 7 hours, as I find that works well for me.

What’s your morning routine to set you up for a great day?

I start my day with a simple routine so I kick off my day with energy. I mix together a SWIISH WELLNESS dynamic duo – it’s our GLOW Marine Collagen with our SUPERGREEN Superfood Powder. I do this every single morning because I know I’m going to be under the pump all day, so I nurture the inside in a very fast and simple way. Our SUPERGREENS has over 40 ingredients including veggies, superfoods, prebiotics and probiotics. As well as the additional benefit of helping to improve digestion and de-bloating, it also helps increase energy levels – which let’s face it, we all need!!

Describe a typical day of eating for you.

After my dynamic duo blend, I have an egg and tomato wrap (I have a tomato addiction!), followed by a long black. Lunch is usually a big leafy salad with tomato, capsicum, cucumber and chilli tuna. To curb my 3.00pm cravings I have GLOW Hot Chocolate Hydrolysed Collagen Ppwder with coconut milk. At the moment my husband and I are loving either Salmon or Chicken with the Three Cheers Mexican Corn Salad from Super Easy. We called this our Three Cheers Mexican Corn Salad because every time we make it, it gets devoured and then we all say ‘Three cheers to the cook!’ Hence the name – it’s so yummy!

Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?

For me it’s all about minimal effort for maximum results, and it all starts with my skin. I have my GLOW Collagen every day, to look after my skin from the inside out. I also always moisturise with both a face oil and a cream – I love how hydrating the combo is. I switch up my face creams as I love to try different ones, but the face oil I am using is the Superfood Face Oil by Juice Beauty. It has 21 ingredients and I love applying it at night time and letting it all absorb into my skin while I sleep.

What are your top 3 wellness non-negotiables?

Our SLEEP Superfood Powder, GLOW Marine Collagen Hydrolysed Powder and SUPERGREEN Superfood Powder are my 3 wellness non negotiables – it’s wellness made easy to ensure my body functions at its best. At SWIISH we have created these products because we firmly believe that feeling and looking amazing really does start on the inside.

Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?

I can’t go a night without our SLEEP Superfood Powder! As with all SWIISH Wellness products, we’ve used only natural ingredients in creating it. What’s important though is getting the right combination of ingredients. We included tart cherry, banana and cacao. Each of these ingredients contain melatonin or assist the body in creating melatonin, which is the vital hormone that regulates sleep patterns. Sally and I created our brand/business as a way to share our belief that small actions can make a big difference – it’s literally just a scoop in warm milk – ALMO unsweetened almond milk is my favourite. A simple self-care action like this can help enormously with wellbeing and health.

Favourite farmers market or healthy place to shop?

Sally recently moved back to Bondi and it’s a little ritual for us both to head down to the Bondi Markets each Saturday morning with Annabelle and Elyssa (Sally’s daughters). I always come home with fresh flowers, and the organic produce available (at such a low cost) is just phenomenal. They have a stall down there that makes this delicious falafel and egg wrap – I literally cannot get enough of them! It really is so good that Sally and I both live in Bondi and can do things like this together.

What’s your fitness routine and favourite way to get sweaty, and where’s your go-to?

I’m loving pilates at the moment, I find it’s the best way to start my day – it makes me feel fresh mentally and physically. A few times a week, Sally and I go for a walk ahead of going into SWIISH HQ. It’s again one of the many bonuses of us both living in Bondi!

What’s the one beauty or wellness treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?

VAIA Beauty in Darlinghurst – it’s an absolute Zen like experience and the epitome of self-care to me. Vaia is super lovely and provides the most luxurious and relaxing treatments. I get the Brightening Mask and it features high strength BHA’s and AHA’s to rapidly exfoliate surface congestion whilst diminishing the appearance of dark spots, pigmentation and blotchiness to reveal a bright and clear complexion. My skin feels so fresh and glowing!

Beauty & Wellness Routine with Elsie & Dominika, Founders of BYBI Beauty!

First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!

Hi, we’re Elsie & Dominika, beauty bloggers, trained formulators, skincare experts, podcast hosts and Co-founders of BYBI Beauty.

It all started in 2015 with Clean Beauty Insiders, our natural beauty blog where we published DIY recipes, product reviews and industry news. Building up our clean beauty blog before starting the BYBI brand gave us time to immerse ourselves in the market and really understand where the gaps were. For us, after trying many other natural skincare brands and also making our own products, there was a clear gap for a beauty brand that upheld great ethics around sustainability and ingredients, but that was marketed in a way that spoke to a mainstream beauty consumer. We took the leap and founded our own brand, BYBI, in February 2017. BYBI stands for By Beauty Insiders.

BYBI makes ethical, effective skincare that doesn’t cost the earth and has the ability to transform your skin. We’re about sustainability, affordability and great performance (plus our products also look cute on your bathroom shelf!).

What time do you wake up most days and how many hours of sleep do you aim for?

About 6am, we aim for a solid 8 hours but that’s pretty rare!

Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?

A full BYBI routine (of course). With a focus on Mega Mist, our skin plumping hyaluronic acid facial spray, plus a blend of the Boosters. As the temperatures get colder in the UK, Buriti & Strawberry are essential! The Buriti Booster is a potent antioxidant and helps protect the skin against free radicals – so great for those that commute or live in a city. The Strawberry Booster is an epic skin softener and helps keep it even and hydrated.

To look my best I follow this up with a dewy base, lengthy lashes and natural blush. Our favourite clean beauty brands are: ILIA, JuiceBeauty, W3LL PEOPLE & INIKA Organic.

Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?

A thorough double cleanse at the end of the day. Starting with an oil-based cleanser to attract and disintegrate dirt and makeup, followed by a water based cleanser to balance and regulate.

Step 1: Swipe Clean – Our highly effective yet super gentle oil cleanser and makeup remover. Hibiscus and papaya, both high in AHAs help to break down and remove grime, dirt, oil, stubborn mascara and the last traces of lipstick.

Step 2: Crystal Clear (soon to be launching into SEPHORA Australia!)

This one is our foaming gel cleanser with prebiotics to protect your skin’s microbiome and salicylic acid to unclog pores. Deeply cleanses and clarifies for a clear, balanced, healthy complexion. You’re gonna love it!

If you could only wear one brand of activewear for the rest of your life it would be…

Girlfriend Collective. They’ve just launched ReGirlfriend, where you can send back your old activewear to make new items. You receive store credits for taking part and they don’t have to create as much virgin material.

What’s your fitness routine & favourite way to get sweaty and where’s your go-to?

We both love yoga and getting sweaty at Barry’s Bootcamp!

You’ve got a big event in 7 days time that you need to look incredible for. What’s your plan of attack to look & feel your absolute best?

We approach it from the inside and out! Firstly, eating really well, packing in more nourishing and energising foods. Secondly, really taking care of our skin, spritzing Mega Mist as often as possible and using the Bakuchiol Booster every night to plump skin and give it a naturally radiant glow. We’re partial to a natural looking spray tan too!

And lastly… do you have any top secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?

For the dewiest natural highlight, we use our Babe Balm Bronze (soon to be launching into SEPHORA Australia). It’s a hybrid of skincare and makeup, a blend of our iconic Babe Balm and glittering mica powder. Its buttery texture means it melts into skin, leaving it hydrated, soft and naturally luminous. It’s the shortcut to fresh skin.

Thanks Elsie + Dominika! If you have any questions for the girls, please leave them below 🙂

Be well,

xoxo

Beauty & Wellness Routine with Sarah Stevenson AKA Sarah’s Day!

1. First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!

I’m a first-time mum, content creator and health and fitness lover! I have a YouTube channel with over 1.3M subscribers along with multiple projects including my own activewear line, natural body care products, fitness programs and Inner Health and Beauty product with Tropeaka just to name a few! I also have a lot of exciting projects coming up in 2020!

2. What time do you wake up most days and how many hours of sleep do you aim for?

Well with my little Fox I have no choice other than to wake up early, which is fine by me, I love being a mum! 8 hours is the dream, but I don’t get that at the moment! On average I wake up around 6:30am buttt… in saying that, I’m also up at 11pm and 3am breastfeeding haha.

3. What’s your morning routine to set you up for a great day?

Before I consume anything, I always start my morning by having a large glass of water with a heaped tsp of my inner health beauty powder, Body Bloom. It’s full of probiotics that aids in digestion and is full of powerful superfoods that are rich in antioxidants. This may be TMI but… it’s the key ingredient to my morning poop (you wanted honesty right!?).

4. Describe a typical day of eating for you.

My day-to-day meals change depending on how I’m feeling but I usually consume paleo-based meals. I ensure I’m consuming a good range of protein, carbs and fat in every main meal, and snacking in between. I make sure that I eat nutrient dense, wholefoods and try to incorporate three different colours in each meal.

For breakfast I enjoy eating 2 slices of paleo toast, 2 poached eggs, 1/4 of an avocado, grilled cherry tomatoes, wilted baby spinach seasoned with pink Himalayan salt and pepper.

Throughout the day I like to snack on a cold green apple, a handful of activated nut mix and ¼ cup of my Deluxe Mix.

I usually make a homemade nourish bowl for lunch that is packed with lots of healthy veggies and protein. I include baby spinach, rocket, baked sweet potatoes, alfalfa sprouts, poached chicken or chickpeas, cucumber, beetroot and my homemade vegan ranch dressing.

To satisfy any sugar cravings I have during the day, I love to opt for a creamy protein smoothie. 1.5 tablespoons of Tropeaka Lean Protein (Salted Caramel), 1 banana, 1Tbsp almond butter, chia seeds, dash of coconut milk, water and ice blended.

My favourite meal to eat for dinner at the moment is definitely my delicious paleo Bolognese. All you need to make this is buckwheat spirals, zoodles, homemade tomato pasta sauce, grass-fed beef mince, nutritional yeast and mushrooms.

5. Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?

Well I’ve just launched a Beauty Box, which contains a natural deodorant (bye bye harsh chemicals), an exfoliator and body butter, so that for one is a big must for me. I’m also a big fan of Serums with B Vitamins. But more importantly than anything, I focus on what I eat. I truly believe that a focus on real foods, healthy fats and powerful superfoods results in glowing, radiant skin.

6. Do you take any supplements, vitamins or special wellness elixirs? If so, we’d love to know!

Yes, every morning I take my Body Bloom, seriously this has been a game-changer for me, and something I’m super proud of! I’ve been taking Tropeaka products for years to help me feel at my best, so to do a product with them that has provided thousands of others with better skin and digestion (including myself) has been something I’m truly grateful for! I’ve also noticed my nails have NEVER been so strong! This has actually been one of the most popular feedback comments eve received about Body Bloom.

7. Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?

I love to just sit in bed and talk and laugh with my husband Kurt before going to sleep, and although my life revolves around creating content, it’s amazing the positive effects that come with turning off my screens (phone and laptop) to unwind.

8. What are your top three-wellness non-negotiables?

Drink more water, secondly, eat powerful wholefoods (I like eating mostly paleo based) and love supplementing with superfoods, and finally listen to your body when it comes to both food and training, it’s ok to rest and have a chill day!

11. Favourite farmers market or healthy place to shop?

I used to love going to the local farmers market before Fox was born, but there’s a local café called Blackwood Pantry that I almost live at! I just created a Sezzy inspired bowl there with the owners, that’s how much I love the place haha! However, I do love bulk health food stores and powering my own goodies into those paper bags!

12. What’s your fitness routine & favourite way to get sweaty and where’s your go-to?

I am actually extremely diverse in the way I train, so no day is ever the same! I always like to listen to how my body is feeling and decide how to exercise from that assessment. My main form of exercise is bodyweight, functional training but I do also love Pilates, boxing sand dune sprints and walking my dog! Usually I’ll do one of the workouts from my eBooks because it’s already written and planned out for me!

13. If you could only wear one brand of active wear for the rest of your life it would be…

My activewear collection with White Fox Boutique!

14. What’s the one beauty or wellness treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?

It’s hard to nail down this one, I’m not really bougie when it comes to treatments, however, I’ve personally seen huge improvements and results with bi-monthly microdermabrasion. It’s basically a facial exfoliation treatments I get done at my local beautician that removes dead skin cells and leaves my skin looking super glossy and radiant!

15. What beauty treatment / wellbeing activity would you love to try but haven’t got around to yet?

Hmmm great question! I’ve tried everything from infrared saunas to all sorts of different forms of training to cryotherapy, so it’s hard to think of something off the top of my head!

16. What’s your dream wellness vacay?

I have a mini bucket list tucked away in my phone notes that include places like the Maldives, Tahiti and Spain. To be honest though I like anywhere tropical, by the beach and with amazing, healthy cafes!

17. And lastly… do you have any top-secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?

As mentioned, I try and keep things pretty simple in this regard, by listening to your body each day and adapting how you eat and train according to how your body feels, you can do so much just off these basic principles. Apart from that, I’m a big believer in eating nutrient dense superfoods, and it’s a big reason why I did a collab with Tropeaka, as I’ve been using their products for a few years now to help me power through the day! And lastly, there’s nothing better than a functional body weight workout to really get the day on track. It’s almost impossible to not feel amazing after you break a sweat. Again it’s basic principles, but when applied every day you really feel the benefits over the long term!

Thank you Sarah for taking part in our wellness routine interview, what an inspiring read! If you have any questions for Sezzy please leave them below!

Be well,

xoxo

Beauty & Wellness Routine with Lee Holmes – Bestselling Cook Book Author, Nutritionist, Blogger, Wholefood Chef and Yoga & Meditation Teacher!

First up, briefly tell us a little bit about yourself!

I wasn’t always someone who was passionate about green smoothies, Leafy greens and looking at nutrition labels. A few years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and fibromyalgia. I found that while some medicines could alleviate symptoms, they couldn’t bring me health and happiness. This is when I turned my life around, looking at food and cooking as more of a healing instrument and included it more jn my lifestyle.I love creating healthy, delicious and simple food and want to inspire other people to do the same! I’m an author, blogger, a yoga teacher, wife and a mum! I advocate listening to your body and your gut – your body is an amazing machine and will be the first one on board of your health journey if you let it!

Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?.

I love to keep my skincare routine as simple as possible! The first thing I do is drink a scoop of my Heal Your Gut Powder. I truly believe that natural beauty comes from within, so this is a non-negotiable part of my day. I then wash my face with Natural Instinct Cleansing Oil, followed by their beautiful Rosehip Oil. I always make sure to apply Natural Instinct Tinted Natural Sunscreen SPF30 before heading out for the day.

Before I go to bed I love to apply my Supercharged Food Earth Mask & Scrub as either an exfoliating scrub or mask. I apply it and then rinse it off in a nice warm shower. I then make sure to dab Rosehip oil at night and sleep with it on – there’s nothing better than the feel of Rosehip on my skin!

What’s the one beauty treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?

I love having massages. After long days working at the office, I just need a release! I couldn’t think of anything better than the tension to literally just drop off my shoulders by the hands of a professional.

Who do you trust with your hair, and why?

I don’t have a particular place I go to and am really lazy when it comes to hair care I normally only wash it once a week and then add a bit of coconut oil as a moisturiser, I learnt that trick whilst studying in India 🙂

Favourite budget / at home beauty treatment?

My favourite at home treatment is applying my Supercharged Food Earth, Mask & Scrub as a mask, lighting a candle, putting on soft music and having a ten-minute meditation!

Your three, absolutely cannot live without, favourite products?

I love Natural Instincts Rosehip Oil, my Heal Your Gut Powder and Southern Nature’s Colostrum!

What beauty treatment/ wellbeing activity would you love to try but haven’t yet?

I would love to go to a Salt Therapy room but just haven’t had the chance! I love the idea of negative ions and would love to test out the salt room for myself! (ED: Check out Salts of the Earth in Vic Park & Wangara!)

Describe a typical day of eating for you – brekky, lunch, dinner, snacks, drinks – the works!

I love having eggs for breakfast! I usually make my Café-style smoked salmon, eggs and asparagus from my new Fast Your Way to Wellness book.

For lunch, I usually enjoy a delicious salad with leftover protein from dinner, lots of greens and some of my favourite filling foods: avocado!

I usually snack on carrots or celery but I’m also a sucker for berries in summer! If I have any left in the freezer, I love snacking on my Turmeric Fudge and have a special surprise coming up about that soon – be sure to check my blog in the next coming weeks!

My hot drink of choice is always homemade chai! Maybe it’s because of my Indian roots but nothing warms me up quite like it.

I love sharing meals with my family. There’s something so special to be about sitting around the table and sharing food with the people you love. Right now for a quick lunch I’m loving these veggie nori wraps as they are delicious, nutritious and easy to make from my new Fast Your Way to Wellness book!

How do you like to get your body moving? Describe your weekly fitness routine.

I start most mornings with a walk along the coastline! I know it sounds very simple but there’s something just so magical to me about a solo walk, appreciating the view and clearing my head. I teach yoga a few times a week and make sure to get my practice in too!

Do you take part in any alternative therapies or take supplements? If so, we’d love to hear about it!

I’m lucky enough to be an ambassador for the wonderful brand Southernature! Anybody who knows me is probably sick of hearing about my passion about the brand. I take Omega 3 to reduce inflammation, Colostrum for keeping my gut in check and the Good Night Sleep to calm me down and help ease me into a restful night’s sleep.

You’ve got a big event in 7 days time that you need to look incredible for. What’s your plan of attack to look & feel your absolute best?

I practice intermittent fasting 2 days a week. I go into detail about intermittent fasting in my latest book Fast Your Way to Wellness, but I’ll give you the down-low! On my ‘fasting days’, I consume 500 calories and for men I recommend 600 calories. The calories I do consume are made up of organic, non-processed and nutritious food. Fasting helps to increase fat burning, control your appetite, reduce inflammation, give the digestive system a rest and help you look and feel the best you can! I usually fast the day before an event so that I go into that day feeling light, not bloated, and excited! If you want to read more about intermittent fasting, or if you would like to purchase my new book, you can check it out on my blog.

How do you like to relax? What are your favourite ways to de-stress?

When I have too many things going on, I know that it’s my time to switch off completely. I turn all my electronic devices off, put a candle on and sit in a bath filled with Epsom salts and a good magazine or book. I find sometimes I get too caught up in work and forget to breathe! I know for me personally, it’s so important to take time out and just remember to put everything into perspective – whether it’s work, university or school work, things always work out for the best and it’s important to stay positive and smiling!

How many hours sleep do you usually get each night? Do you have any bedtime rituals or tips to help you get a great nights sleep?

My younger self would be shocked at the sleep routine I have now! I like to go to bed early and aim for 8 hours of sleep a night. Before I go to bed, I make sure to stay away from all electrical devices for at least an hour, take a Southernature Good Night Sleep supplement and spray my pillow with lavender essential oils to calm my mind.

And lastly… do you have any top secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?

Look after your gut! Not only is the gut at the core of your health, it is closely connected to your immune system and your brain, and I’d say those are two important parts of the body! Some easy tips for looking after the gut is to avoid gluten, stay hydrated and manage stress. If you want to know more about healing the gut, you can check out my 4 week Heal Your Gut Program or, my 2-day Heal Your Gut Maintenance Program.

If you have any questions for Lee, please leave them in the comments! I hope you’ve learnt something from her interview – let me know who you’d like interviewed next!

Be well,

Annette
