First up, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and what you do!
I’m Vanessa Gray Lyndon, founder and formulator for Vanessa Megan Skincare.
Raised on the wild landscape of WA, I’ve always had a deep connection to nature. I began my career as a model and actress before a conversation with my best friend Mel, who had just been diagnosed with cancer sparked an idea:
I set about creating products in my kitchen for family and friends, interest grew and led to a stall at Bondi Markets to today over 150 products.
I believe you can have healthy, powerful skincare that’s good for you. You don’t have to sacrifice health for beauty, that true radiance comes from nourishing your skin with ingredients that heal and transform from within.
And when I’m not working on new product innovations I’m busy with my two tween aged children.
What time do you go-to bed & wake up most days / how many hours of sleep do you aim for?
I’m strict about rhythm: lights out by 10pm, up at 6.30am — so I aim for a solid eight and a half hours. It keeps me sharp, patient and far less likely to negotiate with chocolate at 3pm.
♥ Somage Peppermint Tea
What’s your morning routine to set you up for a great day?
My mornings are a study in organised chaos with a strong cup of calm. I always start with a cup of organic Somage Peppermint Tea sweetened with raw honey — it’s my delicious little ritual of focus. While the tea steeps I make the kids’ lunches, then move straight into the day: emails, briefings and calendar triage. I’d love to tell you I squeeze in a daily workout and ten minutes of meditation, but in reality my mornings are governed by being a working mother, so efficiency rules. That said, the tea, tidy mind and those five uninterrupted minutes with a steaming mug are nonnegotiable.
Do you have an evening wind-down ritual?
Yes, and it’s unapologetically decadent. My perfect winddown is family dinner, a few slow breaths in my massage
chair, and a glass of whiskey and dry. It’s simple: food, warmth and some very practical relaxation. The ritual signals to my brain that the day is done and that tomorrow will look after itself.
Describe a typical day of eating and nourishment for you?
My food is uncomplicated and nourishing. I start with that Somage Peppermint Tea and raw honey. Breakfast is usually avo on wholegrain toast with a perfectly cooked egg. Lunch is often whatever we had for dinner the night before (leftovers are a lifestyle choice here). Dinners are where we slow down: our family prefers organic, mostly gluten-free meals, think nourishing casseroles, good cuts of organic protein, heaps of seasonal veg. Snacks are minimal; if I’m peckish it’s usually fruit or a handful of nuts. And dessert? If there’s room, a little dark chocolate.

Tell us about your daily beauty routine! What are your non-negotiables for looking and feeling your best?
My daily ritual is simple, scent driven and very intentional. I start with a Rose Hydrosol or Metamorphosis Awaken Spray to wake the skin, then the essentials: Petitgrain Cleanser, Luminous Balm & Beyond Night Cream, NEO Oil and Marine Collagen Cream in rotation depending on what my skin needs. I never skip Inika Mascara for a quick, polished eye and finish with our Glowing Lip & Cheek Balm for the kind of flush that looks natural and warm.
Nonnegotiables: a great hydrosol for immediate refresh, targeted serums for daily repair and that multitasking lip/cheek product, it ties the face together in thirty seconds.
Do you take any supplements, vitamins or special wellness elixirs? If so, we’d love to know!
Yes, I’m pretty disciplined here. Metagenics Magnesium is my bedtime staple for sleep and recovery. I take Vitamin B and Vitamin C from Orthoplex for energy and immune support, Vitamin D3 from Herbs of Gold, and a daily Apple Cider Vinegar capsule from NOW Foods. They keep my energy steady through long workdays and the inevitable family colds.
What are your top 3 wellness non-negotiables?
Chiropractic care: structural health matters when you lead a busy, physical life
Yoga/Pilates: flexibility and core strength keep me moving and balanced
Reading: a daily mental reset that feeds creativity and calm.
Favourite farmers market or healthy place to shop for healthy groceries and goodies.
Bondi Farmers Markets or Marrickville Markets. I love the seasonal produce, the small producers and the feel of real food sold by real people.
What’s your fitness routine / favourite way to get sweaty and where do you like to go?
My work keeps me physically active, so my exercise routine is about mobility and restoration: long stretching sessions, Yoga and Pilates to lengthen and balance the body rather than pounding it into the ground. Scout Studios in Marrickville is my go-to.
If you could only wear one brand of activewear for the rest of your life it would be…
Inu8 — beautiful fabrics and cuts that actually move with you.
What’s the one beauty or wellness treatment you can’t live without? And your favourite place to have it done?
The Vanessa Megan Sculpt & Lift Facial at Sensation In Bronte. It’s become my go-to for that immediate, visible lift and a confidence boost before events.
What beauty treatment/wellbeing activity would you love to try but haven’t got around to yet?
The Magnet Bed — it’s been on my list forever. Curiosity + a little technospiritual hopefulness.
Are you into any woo-woo wellness trends?
Absolutely. I have a soft spot for crystals, sageing, astrology and hypnosis. I find ritual, symbolism and a good mindset practice can be surprisingly powerful — even if it’s part placebo and part ceremony, I’ll take it.
You’ve got a big event in a months time that you need to look incredible for. What’s your plan of attack to help you look & feel your absolute best?
I operate on a “one hour to fabulous” policy. My life doesn’t allow months of prep. My daily upkeep is what makes this possible: consistent sleep, skin maintenance with targeted serums, a little facial massage, and good postural work. The week before I’ll focus on hydration, a couple of targeted treatments like the Sculpt & Lift facial, and a clean dinner plan. The day of, I’m strategic: a quick lymphatic facial massage, peptide serums, our Glowing Lip & Cheek, mascara and a confident outfit that fits perfectly.
If you could have the ultimate day of wellness & happiness in Sydney, what would it involve and where would you go?
I’d meet a friend at the new SOAK Bathhouse in Bondi Junction for the kind of deep, buoyant conversation only a good soak can deliver. Then a long walk, returning home to sit under my frangipani tree with a book, and a slow, domestic afternoon pottering around the house, organising little things that make life easier. That combination of connection, movement, sun and small domestic pleasures is my ultimate reset.
What’s your dream wellness vacay and what 5 things are you DEFINITELY packing?
Destination: Joali Being, Maldives.
I’d pack: my book (always), VM Mineral Sunscreen, my LED mask, a Hypno Spa device, and Nocturne (heavy on the sleep vibes). It’s about surrendering to calm, sun and excellent, unhurried care.
And lastly… do you have any top secret tips you use to keep looking / feeling great?
Two indulgences I swear by: 24karat Gold Leaf Sheets for a luxe facial boost and consistent facial massage. The massage in particular works wonders — circulation, tone and a little ritual that helps me slow down and reconnect with my face.
